About Us

Dear Customer

Having been married to my wife for 23 years and having the pleasure and wonder of two lovely daughters I'm constantly reminded of the importance of photography in our lives, not least to provide us with memories of the happy, and sometimes the sad, times we've had over many years. But as a photographer I've come to realise that photographs should be more than just memories. How many of us know of boxes of old photographs, maybe from our parents or grandparents, which are languishing in an attic collecting dust and which may, if they are lucky, come out a few times in a lifetime for special occasions or when we have lost someone dear to us, when those images suddenly become very precious to us. Maybe we have hundreds of photographs stored on CD or DVD or maybe just on a computer that get left to languish. But photographs are much more than that. I've come to think of photography as something we can all enjoy now and something that can play a full part in our lives every day. Life is a wonderful thing and our relationships are precious too. So why not celebrate our lives in pictures, pictures that live and evolve with us throughout our years, in beautiful books or displayed on our walls in many varied and creative ways, where we can see and enjoy them every day.

This is what Lives in Pictures is all about and as you set out on your married life, what better time to begin celebrating that life in pictures. Documentary wedding photography has a photojournalistic style, which is a fancy way of saying that your wedding day will be captured in a way that tells the story of the day from beginning to end in a relaxed and creative way but in a style that is accessible to all. For the most part I will blend into the background and just carry out the photography, which we have previously planned together, in a sensitive way. There will be time to spend together for the more directed photographs of you both and also time for the more traditional family and groups shots should you require them. I work with the support of my wife, Rachel, who is a great people person and a very good organiser. She helps me keep control of the day's schedule and takes an active role in organising groups of people for photographs as required. She will also help deal with the unexpected. The wedding books provided by Lives in Pictures are some of the best in the business and are designed for you to enjoy and share throughout your lives. They are for the bookshelf or coffee table, not the attic!

Rachel and I respect marriage and understand the commitment you are making and we would love to work with you to create your wedding photography and begin to celebrate your lives in pictures.

Sincerely,

Andy
